I paint with acrylics on watercolor paper, using the process of layering the paint and scratching back to reveal unique colors and textures in my paintings.
 
Galactic White Horse ~ In this paintingI thought it would be fun to do a winged house flying through space similar to the Whale in Space painting I had done. I enjoyed blending all the colors throughout the space background and also the challenge of painting the horse. He is based on the winged horse, Pegasus in Greek mythology. There is a Pegasus constellation in the northern sky which is one of the largest constellations and looks like a large square.
 
In the myth, Pegasus was born when he sprang from the monster, Medusa’s neck as she was beheaded. There are many stories of his adventures, he eventually made it to where the gods lived on Mount Olympus. There he carried thunder and lightening for Zeus who placed him among the constellations.
